    Couples Therapy

    We strive to offer a safe place to every couple that fosters relational attachment leading to mutual satisfaction and fulfillment. Depending on each couple's needs, interventions are utilized that are directed towards increased communication skills, deeper understanding of one another, conflict resolution, and development of emotional intimacy. As per individual therapy, attention is also given to identifying and resolving underlying individual issues which impact the dynamics of their relationship.

    TELEHEALTH SERVICES

    Kardia Coastal Counseling provides telehealth or virtual counseling services throughout the state of South Carolina.

     

    Virtual counseling is offered to individuals ages 18 and older and can cover all mental health issues normally dealt with through traditional face-to-face counseling.

    We understand life can get crazy sometimes, but to cancel an appointment, please give 24 hours notice. Missed appointments with no notice will result in a no-show fee.

  • PRIVACY & CONFIDENTIALITY

    All privacy and confidentiality policies will be reviewed during our initial session together. Please know the law protects the relationship between a client and a counselor meaning that any information shared in session cannot be disclosed with written permission of the client. HOWEVER, the counselor is bound BY LAW to break confidentiality in the following circumstances: 

    • Suspected abuse of a child, dependent adult or elder adult-the counselor is mandated by law to report this to appropriate authorities immediately.
    • A client is threatening serious bodily harm to another person or persons-the counselor is mandated to report this threat to the police and the intended victim.
    • A client is indicating or threatening harm to themselves-If a client expresses intent to harm themselves, the counselor will make every effort to engage them in a safety plan which will include notifying appropriate support persons, family, friends and proper authorities if needed.
